Stock

A share of ownership in a company, entitling you to part of its future value.

A stock (or share) represents partial ownership of a company. Shareholders can benefit from rising share prices and dividends, but also bear the risk of losses. Historically, broadly diversified stocks have delivered strong long-term returns despite short-term volatility.
